Accounting/Financial Analyst

General Summary

IFN’s Accounting Analyst performs general Accounting duties for the Finance Department, including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable and assists in month-end close. Actively participates in meetings and team planning. Creates and develops reporting, analytics, and business intelligence to support decision making. Works directly with Accounting Manager and Accounting Assistant as well as interfaces with other various departments within the Company to ensure smooth flow of documentation and information.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Accesses data from multiple applications and prepares meaningful revenue and expense analysis and projections
  • Develops and creates reports to enhance business decision making including dashboards, KPI’s, and other business reports
  • Utilizes data repositories and reporting tools to organize, analyze and report information based on business needs
  • Runs agent sales commission reports and verifies accuracy of agents monthly invoices
  • Reconciles and tracks monthly purchasing cards
  • Reviews and reconciles vendor invoices and statements, including contractor invoice pricing and material usage, enters GL coding on payables, and answers vendor inquiries regarding account status
  • Processes monthly cash account and GL reconciliations
  • Processes Accounts Payable runs after manager review including preparing direct deposits, credit card payments, and printing of checks
  • Enters & proofs new Orders for Service into customer billing system and creates new order projects in the Workfront system for operations
  • Performs Accounts Receivable duties including release of new services into the billing system, answering customer inquiries regarding account status, and monthly billing
  • Enters inventory charge outs and transfers according to invoice documentation, keeps filing system for inventory sheets
  • Leverages business understanding along with technical skills to provide actionable reports, value added information and management tools to leadership to gain business insights and make strategic business decisions
  • Assists with the annual audit
  • Supports current processes while continuing to analyze, interpret, and make recommendations regarding data accuracy needs and improved processes
  • Assists in the development of enhanced analytics in response to changes and opportunities in the business
  • Assists in processing accruals, journal entries, and variance explanations for month-end close process
  • Performs other various accounting support and analysis duties as delegated by the Accounting Manager

Required Knowledge

  • 4+ years of Accounting experience with a minimum of 2 years in an analyst role.
  • Knowledge and experience working in a General Ledger
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Telecom experience a plus

Required Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple work assignments
  • Ability to complete work accurately under time constraints and deadlines
  • Must be driven to work independently as well as working cooperatively with co-workers, clients, and member owners
  • Must maintain complete confidentiality with all company matters
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
