August joined IFN in 2010 as enterprise sales manager. Promoted to vice president of sales and marketing just four years later, he brings to the job more than 25 years of experience working in a wide variety of technology capacities. The common denominator: An appreciation and deep understanding of advanced technology and the change it brings.
Of course, the world of tech was different when August started his career in the computer industry in the late 1980s. Yet he helped grow a successful startup company that is now part of Bell Industries.
Then along came the Internet, and August adapted by moving into data communications. In the early 1990s, serving as district manager at Data Processing Sciences (DPS).
There, he developed his technical sales knowledge of IP infrastructure and deepened his understanding of legacy communications. He also learned the importance of teaming up with channel partners when he managed carrier relationships for DPS with Ameritech, Bell South, and AT&T.
August also worked for CTI Group, as director of new business development – VoIP division, focusing on OEM and enterprise relationships in the telecommunication software space. Major software manufacturers he worked with include BroadSoft, GenBand, Sylantro, NCI and MetaSwitch.
August holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Ball State University and an MBA from Anderson University. He and his wife, Kathy, reside in Anderson, Indiana.
