As Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Cory leads the Sales, Business Development, Sales Operations, and Marketing efforts at IFN.
He began his career in telecommunications taking an internship with AT&T where he developed a passion for sales and the telecommunications industry. After successfully completing his undergraduate at Ball State University in Business with an emphasis in Sales and Marketing, Cory was offered a fulltime position with AT&T where he began to sharpen both his sales skill and his understanding of the industry.
Cory joined IFN as an Account Manager in 2007 as the first full-time sales employee, and only the fourteenth employee. Back then, IFN was known as Indiana Fiber Network and was almost solely focused on providing connectivity to the organization’s member/owners. Growth came quickly for the team with Cory on board. His leadership in the direct and channel sales divisions led to IFN partnering with its first large healthcare account. This accomplishment propelled IFN into the healthcare space, where it now partners with most of the hospitals across the state to provide high-quality fiber broadband capabilities. With Cory’s direction and work ethic, IFN became strategically positioned to sell and grow to be more competitive, establishing some of the partnerships they have today with healthcare facilities, agricultural companies, manufacturing companies, and more.
Cory left IFN for five years to help start a cloud and software centric communications company as Vice President of Sales for Axia Technology Partners. During his tenure he solidified his interest and aptitude for leading entrepreneurial selling organizations, launching new products, identifying and penetrating new markets, and landing key accounts.
Cory returned to IFN in 2014 and was promoted to his current role in October of 2019. Today IFN is a well-respected and well-established organization, far from its start-up days, but the demand to continue to grow and evolve still drives Cory to strategically identify high growth areas for the business and to build the strategies and teams to expand IFN’s opportunities.
